Why would any of these areas be important for us to consider as thinking Christians? Can you think of practical examples?

1. Mind your own business2 Thess 3:11; 1 Tim 5:13; 1 Pet 4:15 2. Be patient – with people 1 Thess 5:14; 2 Cor 6:4; Col 1:10 3. Do not be touchy and easily offended 1 Cor 13:4; 1 Tim 6:3-5; Gal 5:19-21 4. Do not render “evil for evil” (even in your mind!) 1 Thess 5:15 5. Speak evil of no man James 4:11; Eph 4:31; James 1:26 6. Beware of pride as you would a deadly plague I Pet. 5:5-6 7. Maintain a pure conscience void of offense toward God and men I Tim.1:5; 3:9
8. Live by the “Golden Rule” Matt 5:12 9. Shun a faultfinding and contentious disposition Rom 2:8 10. Pulverize thoughts of malice, hatred, envy and strife as you would a malignant tumor Col. 3:3-5 11. Set your conscience by the “scriptures” and don’t trust it entirely by itself Jer. 17:9 12. 15. Attend meetings regularly Heb 10:25 16. Maintain a meek and humble spirit 2 Tim 2:25 17. Forgive others the way you want God to forgive you! Col 3:12-13 18. Understand what your REAL enemies are Gal 5:24; Rom 8:13; 1 Cor 9:27 19. Set your priorities in daily life Matt 6:24; John 4:34; Phil 3:13 20. Do Witness Work! Isa 63:1; Luke 9:26 21. Be fair to your family obligations 1 Tim 5:8; 1 Cor 7:20, 24
22. Actively work at developing more LOVE for God, Jesus, your brethren and man I Cor. 13 23. Start the day with a small devotional (prayer, manna, etc.) Psalms 116:12-14; Psalms 40:5; Col. 3:2 24. Fight selfishness 2 Tim 2:22 25. Give people the benefit of the doubt Matt. 7:1-2; I Cor 13:5 26. Try to stay out of debt as much as possible! Romans 13:8 27. Frequently catch yourself singing hymns (or even humming them helps- for those of us that can’t remember the words!) 28. Daily strategize to improve upon your weakest areas Rom 7:15-24

Do you think that these are some things we may be teaching in the Kingdom? Also, these are “general” rules to live by – there are exceptions to these rules as there are to most rules. This is in no way an exhaustive compilation of the many scriptural guidelines that new creatures are asked to comply with.
